Roger - recommendation please

Roger,

I have a 100 gallon 48" x 24" x 20" high aquarium. I currently have four MP40's on this tank (two on the back wall and two on the sides) and am not at all satisfied with the amount of detritus that builds up on my rockwork. I want to add a couple of Tunze powerheads to my setup. But, I'm not sure what would be an upgrade over my Mp40's. I looked at the new 6150 and it looks great. But, I have a feeling it would create way too much for my tank. Can you recommend a pair of pumps that would help with my detritus problem? I can't ever seem to get any detritus to go down my overflow and into the filter socks. It all just settles out on the rock or bottom of the tank.

Some detritus will be beyond about any power head, herbivore turds in particular tend to be so heavy even siphoning them out is hard. Within reason though I would say 2 6105's, the 6150 flow is much more wide and diffuse, the 6105's are far more focused and forceful and you get 2 front nozzles so you can make that more or less forceful.

These things really pump some water. This is exactly what I needed. Corals are much happier and fish seem to be as well. I have them turned way down to like 15% too LOL. Thanks a bunch.

I got two of the 6105's. I have one pointed towards the water surface and front of tank placed about 3" from tank bottom. The other is on the opposite end cycling water towards the first pump and keeping circulation behind my rockwork. The one pointing towards the water surface really gives me good oxygenation at the water surface as well.

Loving them so far. I put them on a timer so they only kick on during my daylight hours.

Sorry to bother you again. But, both of these 6105 turbelles have started making a clicking noise when I run them in wave mode. I did a little googling on my own and have read it may take a couple of weeks for this to stop on its own. I just wanted to make sure that is true on the new ones as well.

Yes and no, in wavemode they will always make some degree of click, it will be less when broken in and in some cases a second disk may be needed after break in, but the on and off does create a click when the magnet hits the bottom of the well after the coil energizes.
