Ron Popeils Dual Clownfish-o-matic!

thank you everyone, i really appreciate the compliments!

ill try to get another video up in the next few days.

the 45 is made by the same company who made the 60 gallon....sea star i believe.

i took some pictures and a few unedited videos this morning. my camera certainly is not as nice as my friends, and the quality shows. likewise, i did a quick white balance experiment with my camera to equal out some of the blue since im running a radium on the 60 and an XM 20k on the 45....with two 454 actic T5s per tank.

my temp runs between 78 and 82 degrees. thanks for looking!

Thanks for the updates! Looks sick. How do all those damsels get along?

i received the nigripes from a friend who did a mail order from somewhere out east. i dont recall where though. i should find out.

the damsels do chase and harass each other, but the more there are the less they do. there are blue damsels, kupang damsels, chromis and goldbelly damsels. they really added the color and movement i wanted out of my tank. initially i wanted a swarm of cardinals of some sort but they would have been far more expensive and harder to find locally.

Didnt you get the Nigripes from SA?

And where did you get your Tricinctus?I just found some the other day and havent seen them for some time.

Simply awesome! I'm ashamed to admit that I am very very jealous of that 60 gallon on those beautiful magnifica! I can't find a healthy one around my part of town to save my life.

I still love the unique aquascaping in the 45. It's very dynamic and actually makes the tank look bigger than it is. What kind of gorgonian is that?

i received one nigripes from a very generous winwood, the other i crossed my fingers and rolled the dice and ordered from bluezoo. fortunately it worked out to be a male and they were spawning within two weeks i believe.

although i did order 5 nigripes from SA and attempted a harem...only to find the most dominant nigripes obliterated the other four. they were super healthy and wonderful though. so i broke them into pairs in a partitioned 29 gallon QT set up with some copper and within 12 hours they all perished. i had even gone light on the copper. i was baffled and saddened.

the tricinctus i picked up for $19 bucks from a local store, it had a huge red sore on its disfigured jaw and was labeled as a sebae clown. it was the first one id seen in months...and havent seen another one in over a year.

thank you sonofgaladriel. i do feel very fortunate that good mags come in fairly often in my parts. i currently have six and hope to begin attempting some form of aquaculturing them shortly.

velvetelvis...the gorgonian is a purple whip as far as i know. theyre bullet proof. its survived for years and endured all sorts of catastrophe. for years the anemone didnt grow much. but currently the crispa has consumed the entire aquarium and is now the only thing visible for the most part. ill get an updated picture shortly.

Jordan,
It's Kyle from down in Corvallis! Your tank looks awesome. Hey you mentioned doing some aquaculture on your anemones. I've been doing rose anemones successfully for about a year now, you should give me a call, I'd love to discuss it further with you if your interested (I can definitely tell you what WONT work, at the very least), Colt has my number. Have a good one, and sorry for derailing your thread!
