yes, i was thinking of put a rose(bta),i know it won't stay small for long. in my 5.5g with 48 watts PC's w/ mod AC300. will i be able to keep an anemone of any type? the tank isn't set-up yet.

just wondring how hard will it be.

thanks for your input.

wouldnt recommend anemone for that size tank. Lighting is sufficient, but you may have water quality issues in a tank that small.

nope. to small. my bta went from 3 inches around to bigger than a dinner plate in 6 months.

plus water quality would be really hard to keep stable in a tank that small. and nems really need stable water.

the mini carpet(S. tapetum) or tulip anemone would do fine in a small set up.

I took min to mean minimal, i.e. smallest, but that might be what was meant.

yeah im not sure on what was meant by it either but he wanted to know if any type could be kept so those are my votes.

On this subject i would have to say

I beleive you could do this. I have a Juvi akinydos and a 4 inch bta in 5.5 for about 6 months. Once i get the other akiny i plan on moving them to a 15 breeder with a couple btas.

This should in no way be considered a long term thing only temporary

I disagree with all of you saying no. I do agree that it will out grow the tank quickly but i never had water problems at all.

My 7 gallon nano has been set up for 3 years and never had a problem, infact i feel its easier to keep a nano than my 72 bowfront.

I got this RBTA when it was 2inches opened up, it was under 2-32 watt power compacts. It now opens up to about 8inches. I had it for less than a year.

No problems with water quality, changed 10% once a month. Even had a neon goby and a 3 inch GSMC with it until the GSMC got too big and gave to a friend.

I realized it got to big so now it is currently in a 15 gallon under 130 watt pc.

My 2 cents....

i would not go below 10 gallons...unless if you plan on keeping the bta in there for less than 8 months or so...

here's my 1 year old bta in my 12g...it's not fully opened in this pic, it almost touches the sides of the tank fully opened
