rose anemone questions

I picked up a rose anemone from the LFS today as it looked very healthy nice deep color and a deep red base. it took the guy almost an hour to finally get him to detach which didn't bother me as I knew he was being very careful not to tear the foot. my question is when I got home the base looks almost clear. is that just due from being in the dark for a few hours?

I will take a pic. tommrow when the lights come on.

well sorry for th very late pics as the anemone moved into a cave that night. well now he finally is showing himself once again and the color looks better than the clear that I was stating before. IMO not a bad anemone for $30.00

The nem is probably a little bleached out from the move. That's one heck of a deal for $30!

Yeah $30 is a good deal, I work part time at my LFS and I got mine for what they paid for it at $69.

thanks Mark, he is starting to get his color back as you can tell, it just was a more deep red at the LFS. Just got worried cause of how fast it kinda bleached.


yeah I really had to double check on the price because on the tank it just said assorted BTA 29.99. they had about 4 green and then this one.

No problem, you got a steal there. Just feed it every other day and it should regain its darker colors fairly quickly. It's not bleached too bad. I still can't believe you got that for $30. I would've bought 10 of em lol

That's what I feed mine. I'll try the fresh shrimp from the grocery eventually.

thanks, here are a pic of it under atanics only. still confused if it is considered a RBTA now with the green mixed with it. I love the color though. weird as I never saw any green in it at the LFS. maybe just my lights
