I'll have to try that Jake, I've always favored the oyster feast when I use reef nutrition thinking the food was smaller therefore good for more of the smaller mouths
I just finished a bottle of oyster feast and am starting on a bottle of rotifeast. So far I seem to get a quicker feeding reaction from the oyster. The dose is less for the oyster also do a bottle lasts longer
Two very different feeds (look at the particle range - OF is mainly on the small side, RF is mainly on the large side), and IMO, should be used together.
For feeding response, Oyster-Feast will win hands down every time. For particle range Oyster-Feast also wins if you are looking for a broad range feed.
Roti-Feast is an incredibly clean feed in the sense there are no bursts cells, thus no cell leakage to entice the corals. That is why I use Oyster-Feast with it. In the future we'll revisit Roti-Feast and acknowledge this
Dosing instructions are purely recommendations. What you truly need to dose is determined by actual biomass in your tank, which we cannot know so we give a range. The upper range is what I feed, and how we detirmine what the upper amount should be on the bottle. I know people that feed more than the highest level we list :
I would say that's on the low end of the biomass scale, unless you have like Grant's Desjardini tang in there. And it's not interested in small particle foods.
