This being said by some one with more exeriance, yet less success than you, LOL.

I'm beginning to relax again, although my tank will need a month or 2 to recover. Looking forward letting the cruise control take over. Week before last and early inonthis week Alk has been within 2ppm testing every day. I'm back to testing every 2-3 days now. Other than my nitrates being a little high, I'm cool with the way things are now.

Quick little update. Things are slowly improving and last night my testing revealed my alk consumption is going up again, confirmed by Salifert

I also added some Siporax in a reactor I had sitting around doing nothing. I origionslly got the idea from the Brazilian reefers and sort of put it on the back burner until recently when Sahin's thread got me all excited about it again. It does make sense for me because I don't have a ton of rock and I do plan on expanding my fish load now that the terrorist is gone.

I don't really have nutrient issues but by no means is my tank ULNS anymore.

Going out of town on CE so we'll see how things look when I get back.....

Don't they have to be cleaned every once in a while? I've only seen them ran in a tray in the sump.

Probably will have to tear down the reactor every couple of months to clean the sponge. You just gave me an idea I wonder if I can run this reactor in reverse that way all I have to clean is the sponge and it will be on top. Hmmm..... I'll have to check when I get back.
