It really depends on your phosphate levels. I shoot for 6 weeks to 2 months tops.

Change out monthly for me just to be in the safe side. JMO

Measure the phosphate levels coming out of the reactor. If they are still 0, it is still working.

no longer than 5 weeks....4 optimal....if its your first go round maybe even 2-3 weeks as it could exhaust faster
