royal gramma building a nest?

I have one royal gramma in my 100 gal. for about four months. Recently he or she has started to build a nest in its favorite hole in the rocks where he/she sleeps. It used small shells, some bits of gracilera and some empty tube worm casings. I,ve kept these fish before and never seen this behavior. Has anyone else experienced this?

I heard they will often use calurpa to line the hole.

I have a pair living in a small cave, but have not seen this behavior. They do discuss it in Bansch Atlas.
