royal gramma = dead peppermint?

I had one in my old tank for quite a while and never even gave shrimp the time of day, peppermint, cleaner, and fire. I haven't heard of royal grammas bothering shrimp, so IMO, you're pretty safe. Some of the wrasses like 6 line and mystery can go after your peppermint shrimp, though.

Small basslets like royal grammas won't bother anything (unless it is very small). Larger basslets like the harlequin basslet and the tobacco bass will bother inverts.

great choice. i've always thought royal grammas have been overlooked in this hobby, they are one of the prettiest fish available to us!

don't be surprised if at first, it finds a cave and stays hidden for a while. it can take them time to get brave enough to be social. and yeah, totally shrimp safe. now, hawkfish on the other hand...

yea my royal is really something always watching from his cave than when I sit down he comes out and checks me out only had him for 2 days or so

My 3 are in a tank with sexy shrimp for almost a year now and so far they haven't eaten them.

Unfortunately I have seen one eat some in a video from someone's tank, so I personally wouldn't mix them but glad you haven't had a problem.

Royal Gramma are one of the most passive fish for reef aquarium. They display a lot but never bite anybody. I never have them eat any of my shrimp. The only time there will be aggression is when you have two males in an aquarium. 450 gal full of rock was not enough to keep one male from killing the other male. I am have enough food for my fish and they always fat. There is never a thin fish in my tank unless he is new or sick.
