RR jaw dropper

Thanks for the pictures, and as suspected the original pictures are ultra photoshopped. Good luck with It as I am sure it will be a stunning piece in the future.

I dont think the pictures are ultra photoshopped(maybe a little). My photos are crappy cell phone pics not with a nice DLSR like most. In person the colours pop for sure...

Haa you saw that what a bunch of jokers

Being the 3rd person I read a few of the posts as well (wish I could have read in it's entirety, darn late night job!) those few posts support more double crossings that RR is infamous for. Also, every on line deal they coincidentaly have a reefer w/ multi year status but only 11 posts (coincides w/1st on line mess of a sale catastrophe) begins posting bogus out of focus WYSIYG pics of 1.5" frags (actually shipped were <1/2" fresh cut frags people were ashamed to post pics of the $200+ 1/4-1/2"frags)

Thank you TRK for all your efforts, as I personally know/experienced the frustrations from both customer and "the fly on the wall" of their classless dbl X deals.

The original pics may not have been ps...or not heavily ps. This is pure speculation on my part, but it seems to me that the original pics that floated around were perhaps taken fresh from the wild colony. It appears to me from these fresh batch of pics that the acro has now darkened a bit and lost some luster now that it's been under aquarium lighting for a few months. These new pics also don't seem to be taken under heavy actinics. Time will only tell if it colors back up.

You are right that when you frag any acro it will loss a bit of colour and will colour up in time...certainly there was no heavy actinics used as I took the pics that I posted and used an iphone...

Actually the owner is shipping to some people in the states to farm and maybe you could get one(talk to RR Canada)....the pricing is slightly different in the US and Canada probably due to the headaches associated with shipping sps across the border. 550...

Thank you RKLion. I will attempt to call Jay up there at RR and see if he will possibly tell me who will be getting frags of it. I don't know for sure if he will even tell me who they will be going to, but I guess I can try.

Well hate to be a bubble buster but this is an in focus pic of well a healed frag (RR Asia's pic!)

As the previous pic of multiple shades of red acro frags in varied states of healing...is not congruent w/ RR Asia's pic.

Well I didn't necessarily say that, as it's not a sure thing that a wild acro will definitely color back up to its original color and luster. I'm sure any experienced sps reefer will tell you that.

I said time will only tell if it does color back up or not.

When I see a nice little colony grown out in an aquarium (telling me that it will grow and retain nice colour in a captive reef)......thats when an acro really becomes worth something to me. Still not the $$ we are talking here (dont get me wrong Im willing to spend a decent buck but not the $500 or $600 per frag). It's gotten a little crazy but you can't blame the retailer when its the customers that buy it.

Not that well healed as its not polyping. Its got really bright blue polyps and white growth tips when its healed and happy and more reddish orange pink streaks...

Hi Darryl....we dont pay that here in Canada its quite a bit cheaper...its probably due to the headaches associated with shipping internationally and also it goes to farmers who then profit off of it...

First I've heard that, been in hobby since '93'

An encrusted base is an indicator of "healed"
PE is usually indicator of IMMEDIATE happiness, ie a frag being moved for a pic perhaps...I am sure RR Asia does not grow there acros horizontally on gravel w/ encrusted plug.
No PE AND no base WOULd be indicator of "not healed"

Almost as bad as reading someone post "never received a shipped coral that browned..." later posting "frags brown when I move to frag tank" same poster different forums same convoluted thinking

Fair enough its healed past the point of fragging as it is starting to encrust but not to the point of reaching its peak colour as I have seen much better colour out of the mother and even my frag and if it was polyping it would look even more stunning with the contrasting bright blue polyps...

its funny that any time a picture with a blue tint is posted people automatically says its photoshopped when in reality the white balance just needs to be adjusted.

I really want a frag of this but I am starting to believe that it will never look like the original pictures posted on page one. Yes it's a rare frag and I want one but let's be realistic here is it worth $600 a frag? How can anyone be asked to pay such a high price for a frag when not one picture shows full PE.

LOL...you guys are hilarious.

Getting all upset at the price of a frag, when clearly people are willing to pay the price.

You also get so upset about the photos, yet the demand for the frag by the people who have seen it in person exceeds the amount of frags available. (clearly whatever it looks like is good enough for the people to pay a high price....IN Canada as well)

Don't like the price? Think its photoshopped?... then don't buy it!

Very entertaining, thanks for the laugh this morning.
