Anyone know why my RBT would chose to perch itself in this location?

its about 8 1/2 inches and has been there for about 2 weeks.

Probably feels safe there. If you're worried that it's too far out of the light just know that they can stretch out of the rockwork pretty far to get to light when they want to.

I have a GBTA that stays in a pretty similar area in my tank. It's in a crevice of a rock under a ledge. Mine has stayed put there since I put it n my tank and has been doing well. Like the poster above said, they can stretch a long way into the light when they want it.

I would let it be and see what happens unless you really don't like where it is. IMO trying to move a nem is almost always worse than just letting it do it's thing until it is happy.

No, I dont mind it at all.... just that in the 2 weeks its been there, it hasn't bubbled up.

now... if only the clowns would take to it.... that would be nice. They killed a large mushroom coral I had beause they took to it as a host. The almost did the same to a large open brain coral. I may just have to get them a natural host, although Id rather not deal with that. Oh well, hope they decide to take to it. The 3 females and 1 male I have took to that mushroom as one big happy family... imagine that... Lol.
