RSM 130D sps project

Yeah it's in my opinion one of the brightest corals out there. Always found for me it had best colour real low in the tank. In my old 120 gallon it was vibrant and growing even under an overhang

Got the test kits fired up and started to dose 2 part. I am keeping my alkalinity at 8.5 and calcium at 440.
Still not consuming enough to break the doser out of storage though. I am at 5ml each per day. I am using baked baking powder and calcium chloride diyhydrate. Order it in. I'll from a Canadian reef supplier.
I am batteling some cyano and starting to win with water changes and less feeding.
Recent new additions are a frag of green slimer. And an acro with yellowish base and bright baby blue tips. Still waiting for a guy to get back from a business trip to get a nice 2 inch piece of pink lemonade.

Did t realize growth has been this good. Here is some progression shots. April 9 2017 to yesterday.

Seems despite my cyano troubles which I am working hard at getting rid of, things are growing. Hard to tell when you stare at it every day

Well, the battle with cyano seems to have been positive. Still a little in the tank but a vast improvement from where it was. Things I attribute to defeating it.
1. Cleaned skimmer cup every day to keep it efficient.
2. Turkey basted the rocks and sand every day to stir it all up.
3. Reduced feeding to one small pinch a day of flakes and frozen every 3-4 days.
Sps were always growing, just the cyano looked awful. Here is some iPhone pics from tonight after our fondue dinner. From the table
A little closer shot
