RTBA sliced in half!

I got home a few days ago and found my RTBA split in half through the mouth. at first i thought it was splitting, but not sure now. it has moved around the tank and and has not divided. I am wondering if it got caught in the power head. it's still alive!

My BTA does that sometimes... its like he half splits and then changes his mind.

we have a club member who has a prop tank were he cutts all his rbta right down the middle and they keep going with no problems.

That's becoming pretty commonplace.

I was referring to the fact that that nem seems to have split only the radius of it's column and oral disk and stopped. That is odd enough but there are also tentacles lining the entire open end. That's really weird.

It wasn't collected near the Bikini Islands was it?

not sure where it was collected, but I'm thinking it may have had a few margaritas. BTW, the nem seems to be doing okay. it moved to the back of the tank and is hiding the split. his tentacles are full and his color is good.

I'm wondering if i should try to feed it??? ADVICE?

I was just kidding on the Bikini Islands comment. It's an old nuclear bomb test site.

It wouldn't hurt to feed it... that said I have no idea what it's anatomy looks like in terms of it's mouth or gastrovascular cavity.

Mystery Solved!

On Friday, I happened to look in the back of my tank, and there in the overflow filter, was the "baby" BTA. I have not idea how it got in through the slits in the grate. Here is a photo of the little tike.
