There was no need for the moderator who closed the chiller thread to be so rude. I understand the rules and abide by them. I'm glad that they are there. I also know that a bit of common courtesy and encouragement to the newer folks on the forum go a long way in promoting a hobby we all love. So as for the chiller thread -chill out dude. :smokin:

Maybe instead of buying a chiller locally and helping the community, the guy's without 50 post can go online and buy a unit from over sea's and help them out. Rules are rules, what do you think about that DgenR8 ? I know both of these guy's personally and they are not trying to make a fast buck so I will gladly give each one half of my 5 years and 1600 plus post to acommodate for the rules. Please think of a better way to explain the rules in the future !!!!!

That's the thing... The "offender" didn't start a "for sale" thread, and was not actively trying to sell anything. Someone else posted a thread requesting a specific piece of equipment, and all the "offender" did was reply to it, saying he had that equipment. Sheesh.

He should have just sent a private message. Or do they monitor that too?

I think he could of sent a Pm but it was a local making a mistake, forgive him all he was trying to do is help someone out. He was not trying to cheat the system !!!!

Sorry for ranting Akwarius as I now you are not trying to put the blame on anyone, just making a suggestion for the future.

:) I suggest everybody in this thread step back from the keyboards and take a breather. These types of threads rarely end well. If you have a problem with the way something was handled and/or want clarification on why it was handled that way contact the moderator privately.

We here at Reef Central have very clear rules regarding 50 meaningful posts and 90 days of membership before selling or trading. They've been in place for a long time and are in place for good reasons. These rules extend to ALL selling and/or trading and ALL members. It's that simple.

I see nothing rude about Dgens post however I do find it quite rude to have an edited post replaced by another member. The rules have been in place for a long time and apply to everyone, even the people in your club who you think are really great guys.

This thread is closed.

:rolleye1: After all the actions I've taken, and things that I've said on this board, THIS is what you people get your underwear in a twist about?
It was an obvious attempt at circumventing the rules that ALL 200,000+ members are required to abide by, even the person that was looking to unload his used chiller.
My action was just, and it will stand.
