Running mj mods on a timer

So I'm a bit behind on the times. Does anyone know if any of the commercially available maxi-jet mods are able to be run on on/off timers/wavemakers? Ex would be a Chauvet timer?

I ran two off a red sea wavemaker / timer no luck both died short of six months. Housing magnet failed not mod impeller. They were on alt 12 hour cycles.

MJ impellers don't care which way they spin, so I remember when people were first doing the mod, they had problems with the impeller turning in reverse, I would think that the commercial version has circum this delema, other than that as long as the pump can take it the mod can, and MJs are fine for on/off application. I heard they are a bit louder than a regular MJ

I too have not owned them, just read a lot about them.

Woops! I just re-read the origibal question. The MJ MODS are absolutely not made to run on a timer. Like all have said, re-start is noisy and will most likely wear down the stop built into the shroud very prematurely. My MJ mods crapped out early just from the irritating small power outages we get during bad weather.
