Running osmolator in salt?

I recently purchased an Osmolater.. Great investment! I setup the float switch and sensor in my 55 gallon and I picked up a 32 gallon garbage pail (the wife is thrilled with that thing in the living room) for my resevoir filled with RO/DI water. Anyway water top offs are great and I figured water changes would be easy also not taking into account my salinity dropping. Can I just transfer the pump from my current 32 gallon resevoir to a 5 gallon bucket of salt water for water changes? Any advice would be appreciated..

Salt water shouldn't do any damage if used periodically and thoroughly rinsed.

This is how i change water, set the skimmer to skimm very wet and then use the tunze top up system to replace whats taken out with saltwater. Works great but you need to think about the 10 minute cut off on the osmolator.

When finished place the pump back into the ro water and I get it to pump a few liters. SO far no problems but i always have a spare pump available if needed

Spare pump is a good call.. I will pick a couple up..
