attached to my return pump is a plastic vynal hose. it fits snug but pops out every once in a while so i added a stainless steal tightning loop. now the screw rusted, i dont think thats safe for the tank or is it? anyways, what do you guys use to clamp down the hose to your return?

plastic clamps u can get them at most fish store. u dont want any rust going in your tank

stainless, not stain free. Go with the plastic.

try a ziptie frost those hose clamps are stainless and wont rust but the screws inside them are not stainless and rot out every time i dig them up all the time the band will be in perfect condition and the screw is pretty much gone

Depends on the grade of stainless.....303 will rust....316 will probably not.
