Nice work! Is that the jns skimmer?
I hope everybody had a Merry Christmas! I haven't purchased any coral since Reef-A-Palooza back in late October because I want to beat a Hair Algae problem that's really starting to P me off. It's not completely out of control but definitely needs some attention. Plus my acro colors could definitely be better. I decided that my 2x MP40s may not be enough flow for a peninsula style tank with no powerheads on one end of the tank, so I ordered 2x Jebao WP25s on a Twin Controller today. These powerheads in wavemaker motion should really help with the amount of detritus that builds up quickly in my rock and also provide more flow for my sps. I also ordered a GFO reactor today, even though my Phosphate and Nitrate always text 0.00. I'm assuming that the GHA is eating up the nutrients and that's why I'm testing 0.00. Plus, my glass gets a light dust on it every single day; so there must be PO4 and Nitrate in there, right? I will get the GFO reactor from will call pickup today and get it running this weekend. I hope that helps!

Subbed, very nice tank and corals!
Give Algaefix a try. I've used it a couple times when I couldn't get rid of hair algae and it worked flawlessly. I didn't lose any coral/SPS and the hair algae never came back. When I tried to fight off hair algae with GFO it did little if anything - the Algaefix took care of it within 2-3 weeks... trust me
Basting your rocks every night for a week before lights out will help get the sequestered nutrients out and feed your corals. Bump your mag up to 1500 Add some Banded Trochus snails and they should keep it under control .Was advice given to me by advanced reefer in my area and it worked very well. I also would put the snails right on the worst areas to rid it faster. Be care full with GFO you can bleach your acros without much warning. I haven't battled hair algae In along time now and baste weekly with my water changes I dont run any GFO or carbon and have happy acros!
