My serpent star has been missing for about 4 days. I know all his usual hiding spots, so I'm surprised I can't find him. Water parameters are good, and he wasn't showing signs of stress - I doubt he died on his own.

I have a healthy S. Haddoni, about 10" diameter. Is it possible my serpent star was eaten?

Has anyone witnessed this in their own tank?

A haddoni will devour anything it touches whether it likes it or not.
Look out for the carcass nearby the haddoni in the next day(s)

When I broke down my old reef my Haddoni's foot was completely buried in the sand. Unbeknownst to me part of it had attached to a piece of large rock. When I pulled out the piece of LR the Haddoni went with it through the sand.

In one motion I had a Haddoni and an angry female Fire Clown flying through the air at my face. :) Proof they eat people too. :p

In the wild they will eat crabs, clams, starfish, snails, sea urchins (!), and shrimp...

If they can snag it, they can eat it.
