i had a haddoni shipped to me.. very very large(prob around twenty inches fully expanded maybe larger).. green. i have had it for four or five days. expands/ reacts to light, planted its foot.. only problem is mouth is open, its not gaping at all, not loose, just open. it will take food, and is kind of sticky. lighting is SE 250 14K. ph 8.3, cal 425, alk 9, sg. 1.026.... it was shipped with no water in the bag. everyday since arrival the mouth has been getting tighter. seems healthy just stressed, but the mouth has me worried.. anything you think i can do to aid the recovery? i just think the shipping is what has it upset still. when they ate i have fed them chopped fresh scallops, fresh shrimp soaked in selcon. i have also decreased the flow in the tank. i turned off the SEIO's to help them adjust a little better the flow from the return is pretty strong and i can still see movement in all corals. i know it takes time for them to adjust as i know plenty a lot about anemones. i was just looking for any insight to help. i have not ever had an anemone shipped before. i would usually get it from a LFS or area reefer who already had it. this can be a jaw dropping anemone if i can get it to close it mouth and be happy!
