any body have experience with these guys? I know they grow fast but what are there light requirments? I want to pic up a few different color specimens as my lfs has them for $12(decent price from what I've seen) but I only want a few in my tank so I was thinking of making a "basket" out of acrylic and hanging it inside my sump to put the "babies" when they split. but my question is will 3 20w 65k cfl flood light bulbs 120w equiv. rated at 1250 lumens each be sufficient to maintain these anemone's?

The required care as far as lighting and flow is basically the same as any other anemone. I feed mine small shrimp pellets a few times a week but any small sized food a few times a week will work.

crsaz,

Are you looking at the 1-2" specimens or the 4-5" specimens? While the larger variant will divide under severe stress or a knife, the small ones divide consistently.

In my tanks, the larger variant has gone for years without a division cycle.

In my experience, the small ones move around all over the place :D

Not sure how you would "put" babies in a basket, unless they move up the glass, rubble, etc.

I have made an acrylic "basket" the can hang in my refugium so if/when they start multiplying like rabbits I can move them to the refugium

The smaller are very small and seem insignificant unless it is is a nano or small tank. They do reproduce by fission often. I have a larger green on that is exceptional, but it have not divided for the last 6 months or so.

all I've got is a cheap fire fish and a damsel so I really dont care if either one gets eaten
