saddleback clown problem

i have a saddleback clown in qt that i bought a few days ago. i noticed that he looked stressed and started to have white spots appear and that he also had faded spots by his tail fin. so i tested the water and the ph was around 7.6. to go along with this the faded spot has turned red. i had a copperband butterfly with the same symptoms a few months ago and died fairly fast but it was in my reef. the clown though hasnt gotten really worse and it hasnt really spread, just gotten redder. i contribute alot of this to the stress from low ph and new surroundings and such. what r some things i can do to help this redness?

a Ph of 7.6 is low but I doubt it would cause a drastic amount of stress to the animal. I would suspect that it has contracted something, as wild saddleback clowns can be very susceptible to catching diseases but it is hard to say what it is without a better description or picture.
They are especially prone to catching brooklynella.

Are you doing a hyposalitity treatment or using copper? Its a very fuzzy picture, but looks a lot like a bacterial infection, probably secondary to some other ailment (that's just my opinion)

no i am not using hyposalinity and i wont use copper. all parameters in my quarantine are the same as my main display. i am however using rid ich+ here and there and keeping him well fed. over that past few days sice this post first started he has gotten somewhat better. the spot is still a little red but more brownish red, no more ick spots and honestly he has lived longer than i expected him too. i just hope that he will make it to the main display for a long happy life..the other clowns could use the company, lol. any advice on treatment or anything else i should do?

thanks

Not to change topic but where did you get your clown? Ineed 1 to pair w/ 1 that i had lost and havenot been able to find the true blk saddle back (Poymnus) Thanks in advance!
Do you have a anemone? If so id allow the anemone to do the work of cleaning the clown.
