Is it safe to use a razor blade to scrape coralline of of the tank glass, or is the metal harmful to the tank inhabitants?

Thanks,
Karl

Took the words outta my mouth Kev. But, you can also scratch a glass tank with it. Been there done that. Just make sure to keep the blade flat on the glass. = )

Is there an ultimate glass tank cleaning solution that won't scratch the glass? I'm going to be looking for that solution sometime soon.

You're generally safe with razor blades. If you're nervous, practice on some scrap glass. I've scratched tanks with mag floats, but never a razor.

i've scratched glass tanks with a razor, even when i thought i was being pretty careful. I've had better luck with these things, as they help to ensure that you're keeping it a the proper angle:

Stainless steel scraper from Kent has worked great for about 9 years for me. I just replace the blade when it get's bent up. I have used one on my Starphire tank for 4+ years now with no issues or scratches.
