Safe hoses?

For my RO/mixing station I've just ordered some clear vinyl tubing (ATP Vinyl-Flex PVC Food Grade) - best price I could find for 100' was $67 with free shipping (Prime). I actually only need 50' (but two 50' hoses might be nice).
$67 is not too bad really, but what 'about drinking water safe' hoses like Camco? The metal fittings are nickel plated brass. As hose goes I'm sure it's easier to work with than the clear vinyl stuff. 50' for $21.25 with free Prime shipping got me thinking....

Thoughts?

Thanks. Push to connect fittings? Not using them, just barbed. This is for sending the stored RO/DI water from the container to refill ATO, or to the salt mixing container, or from the salt mixing container to the tank.

The metal ends on the Camco hoses say nickel plated brass, so I wasn't sure if that'd make a difference. In the end the price difference isn't much, I'm getting 3/4" ID Vinyl-Flex PVC for $0.67/ft vs $0.42/ft for the 5/8" ID Camco hose. I guess a person could cut the ends off the Camco and just use the tubing. Aside from the price it'd probably coil and store easier, kink less.
