Hello I received my Sailfin tang and a fathead sunburst anthias from saltwaterfish.com on Tuesday.

Issue 1.I haven't seen the anthias since I placed it in the tank on Tuesday. I know they hide in rock woke but do 3 days with no trace has me worried. . I purchased this from the what you see is what you got section at saltwater fish and an kind of bummed because I've always wanted this fish now I'm out $65. Thoughts?

My sailfin will not eat. . I have tried Nori, Rods Herbivore & fish blends, mysis, and frozen cyclopeeze all mixed with garlic. He shows interest but just spits it out Pellet and flake is ignored completely. Any ideas to get it eating? Here are pictures from my phone

First I would of QT the fish before putting them in the DT to ensure hey are disease free and to get the fish eating. The anthias could still be alive and hiding but they need to be fed 3 times a day minimum, more like 5 times a day to thrive. The sailfin eating and spitting the food out is great news, at least the fish is interested in the food. Stick with what you are doing and the tang will start eating, you may want to try some brine too

I know you right. I am getting a QT tank up and running soon. I just have to figure out a place to put it. It's not that easy to have tanks everywhere lol. I have a auto fish feeder with pellets. My dad suggest brine too! I am going tonight to go but some live brine and give it a shot.

This. The tang showing interest is promising. Do you supply Nori all the time?

Ok great! Yes. I provide nori every morning before work and place a drop of garlic for my hippo tang. Everything picks at it but the sailfin haha.

Leave the nori in there, keep lights low, let him settle in. Stay away from tank for a day if possible as well as keep your hands out.

Go to your lfs and get some black worms. Drop a few in there and leave him. My sailfin took about a day to settle but I also have a bunch of tangs as well and after a day he came out of hiding and joined the rest.

The black worms are a great treat and no fish turns them down. I actually had my goby and maderian dashing after them.
