As long as the solution has a 35 ppt refractive index, any brand will do. You can also mix your own calibration solution using Randy's recipe. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-12/rhf/index.php

I've always just used pure rodi water. I didn't know there was an actual solution for calibration.

A lot of info here. It's best to calibrate a device at the level you are trying to achieve, i.e. 35ppt/1.026.

Thanks for the info. I am ordering some as after doing some reading. The way I have been doing it can give wrong results.
