I have a sallylight Foot Crab in my tank for about 2 years.I want to get a Few Cleaner Shrimps in my tank.Do you think they would be safe or would sally eat them.Anyone with experience with these crabs w.I would appreciate some info.

My answer would be kind of on the no side.
They are said to be reef safe, but it's different with everyones crab.

My sally lightfoot crab caught and ate my peppermint shrimp many times. I didn't trust it and removed it before I bought my fire shrimp.

some people say yes and some people say no. i personally have never had a problem with any sally i have owned and i have had alot of them over the years ranging in size. but there are the people out there who have said they had some problems with them. so with that said you have a 50/50 chance i guess.

roxsburyrage-it was actually the reckless chase it around the tank with a net method :(
It was easy though because I had just set up the tank recently and there were only a couple rocks that I had to move around to get it.

I don't really care for them, to be honest, as they can get large and I've seen them try to go after living things before. I was able to catch mine with a net, they're pretty slow and in the middle of the night they'll venture out off the rocks. Mine was in the corner of the tank and I was able to get it without much challenge.

Slow? Mine's lightening fast! I keep it with a mantis because the mantis can't catch it. I had to use a net for mine which I hate doing. They can slide between things really well though so if you use a trap keep that in mind.

Your local thrift store most likely has a large selection of nice crab traps in the form of oddly shaped glass jar lids.

This lil' crab trap cost me 25 cents and caught the gorilla crab that has been terrorizing my tank within 30 minutes:

I tried using a sauce jar with a peace of shrimp in it I left it there for a full day no luck so far.I took it out.Anyone else out there trap a sally without using a net.I have over 200lbs of live rock in my 90.
