Sorry, I replied earlier but I guess it didn't go through? I have always used red sea salt. Will it make a difference if I change salts now? cdangel0 I am up for splitting red sea salt buckets, but if it isn't in the GP then I don't see it working. I will only need one bucket of salt, as long as I can mix and match salts, I will get one.

BTW, jon I will be up there around 9 anyway. So I could take my bucket back and whoever else's if needed. I only have limited room, unless I find a nice 40g tank for QT, then who knows haha. But count me in on a bucket, I am sure I will see you up there. I wish I could meet everyone, we could be standing right next to each other and I wouldn't even know it!

HaHa! I will be the young kid (21) with my brother probably running around wishing I had more money to buy everything! I don't know what I am wearing, but I will try to find something unique or bright so everyone can spot me out and say HI. We shoulda made T shirts or something saying DRC haha. BTW, you have a PM.

There are Delaware Reef club shirts. I have one and thought about wearing it, but trying to think of something unique. I might where my coast day T-shirt because my gf has one of those as well, but then if me and my gf match people might think we are a sales rep from one of the companies or something... We will see.
DamnPepShrimp, as far as the salts go you can put different brands in your tank. Most of the pros have always said to buy what is on sale. Even with recent closer look at the contents of salt the fact is bucket to bucket the contents change slightly. You might just want to test things an hour after adding the new salt, but it should be fine. Do you dose calcium in any way or monitor it?

As long as I can mix and match salts, I will be down for a bucket. I do dose calcium and monitor it, does that matter? Only in my coral tank though, besides adding purple up to the main tank for Coraline algae.
So who is still going with this weather? I barely made it home tonight from work, actually closed early. I am supposed to go up with my brother, but it seems that he is going to back out on me. I won't be able to take my car up there, RWD trans am isn't making it outta my parking lot! Hopefully it clears up by tommorrow, and I can get my brother to go. I really want to see these sales. Will they still have the tent sale if its bad weather?

The rain and all the crap have stopped. At least in northern DE and according to the weather forecast, which have stayed the same for a while, it is supposed to be clear through tomorrow. The sun is actually supposed to peak out of the clouds a little bit in the am.
DamnPepShrimp I was just trying to decide if you would be better with a reef salt of the IO. If you dose calcium then the reef salt will probably be better. My tanks currently have little coraline algae and just about no corals so I don't need a higher calcium salt, aka reef salt. IO is better for my system.

Sounds good to me. I don't know if I will be able to make it. Doesn't sound like my brother is going, and my car is plowed in, plus I don't know how well the other roads are. My car won't go well in the snow. We will see, if not, I can swing by later saturday night maybe and pick up the salt? I am going to Atlantic City sunday to monday, hopefully win some money so I can upgrade tanks! So if I don't see anyone up there, have a good time, safe trip and get lots of good deals! Let me know if you see any good angels, preferably an emperor!

That was my plan a week ago, lol. I went to Atlantic City with the gf and all I did is lose money. I had fun though and I suppose that's what matters. I think I put most of the money I spent into a slot machine that had a fishing game as part of it. Maybe you can catch an emperor digitally and then use the money to order one online, lol.

Yeah, that would work too! As long as I get an emperor. Well Hopefully we can make it up there. I shoveled my car out last night and woke up and the plow came by again and plowed me back in again!!!!!!!!!!! I just realized that with this salt sale, it is cheaper to buy it on a wednesday with 30% off. If the salt costs $35 per bucket, 3 would make it $105 and divide it by 4 meaning each bucket would cost $26.25. Now a $35 dollar bucket with their 30% off coupon would make it $24.50. Just a thought for anyone? Well I will try to say hi martin, jon I remember what you look like. Craig, I don't know, but I'll look for the screaming kids saying what's that? And the wife telling you NO! HAHA. BTW I will have a brown fleece over a blue hoody, haven't shaved in a few days. I don't care what I look like, I'm on 3 hours of sleep and it's freezing out there!

Four buckets for the price of three is 25% off, so the 30% off is better. You can stock up on more then one item being on sale this time and I would already be up there if there was no sale going on for the seminar. God I hate early mournings. You never realize how much of the time your on autopilot until you wake up early the next day after rearranging your room.

Sorry I had to bail out on the salt. I want to stick with red sea and 30% off is better, every little bit helps. But it was worth it... I GOT MY EMPEROR!!!!!! They had two there, one was about 6" and color changing, but he was $180!! Then I saw another about 4" almost starting to color change, getting a little light on the top, losing the circular bars somewhat, for $100. So I couldn't pass that up. I stopped at him while my brother got a ticket, I never moved, didn't even look at anything else really. I was too scared someone else was going to buy him, I woulda begged whoever tried to take him from me.
BTW jon, do you happen to have any heaters you don't use anymore that I could buy off you? I need to set up another QT tank for this guy and need a 50w or so heater. Or anyone else have one laying around for cheap? I forgot to get one up there, and a digital thermometer, I was too excited about the emperor! Hope everyone had a good time and got what they wanted!

Glad to hear you got your emperor. I picked up a porky pine puffer for $10! He doesn't seem to be in the best condition, but I've seen a lot worst in the past. I also bought a tuxedo urchin, but I'm worried my acclimation for it might have been a bit fast.
Sorry, I have been close to buying another heater myself, but keep convincing myself that I will condense tanks soon and have extra. Condensing is a while off though. I have tons of freshwater HOB heaters, but they are worthless to ya.
I am going to try to go to Al's around noon tomorrow and pick up the salt. I hope not too many of you were expecting me to get it from his place bright and early the night after St. Patty's day.

Not even home. The salt is there and Jon is going to stop by today to grab it. Since it is his salt, (he paid for it) and I dont know what arrangements he made, give him a yell first. If it is ok with him, come and get it. My wife will be home all day and I will be home around 6:20.
