Salt Switch Affecting Anemone

I did a water change today, and this evening noticed my BTA turned dark. The tips were somewhat deflated and it's mouth was rather exposed. If I didn't know any better I thought it actually looked larger too...maybe that's because the tentacles were still full. I switched salts from Coralife to Red Sea Pro, and I'm hoping it's adjusting to the new salt, and in the morning it will bounce back. None of the other corals or critters seemed to react to the change.

I just switched from Red Sea Pro to Reef Crystals and have not noticed any adverse effects. How big are your water changes? Perhaps it was just pooping or there are some other issues with water.

The other thing I forgot to mention that was new was my RO/DI unit. Up until now all of my top off's & water changes have been with Culligan RO water. This past weekend I finally got my BRS unit up and running and mixed a 25 gallon batch of water for a change in my 75 gallon tank. Everything looks crisp, clean, and clear this morning...except my anemone. It still looks dark and somewhat deflated...maybe he's not used to the clean RO/DI water????

Did you flush the new RO membrane for an hour or so and get rid of that first water produced, or did you use it right away to make up your saltwater?

New RO membranes often need to be flushed a bit before using any water produced by them...

Yes, I flushed it out for over an hour before I used any of the water.

It's starting to look better...the tips aren't inflated, it's still darker than before, but it's full size and flowing like before.

The pic with the tomato clown shows what my BTA looked like prior to the water change yesterday.

The other pic shows what it looks like now.

my sebae also deflated a bit. I went from using tap water and reef crystals to RO/DI and red sea coral pro. He went to looking 100 times better the next day and has been brighter looking since then with a bright green mouth. Most likely just a little shocking as the water parameters changed
