Seahorse keeper and coral killer in Angwin (Napa County) new to RC (joined a long time ago, but just started lurking actively) found this forum, and wants to know about meetings, etc. Been in the hobby about 3 1/2 years. 210 gallon "reef" with lots of live rock, and a bunch of fish, a couple of anemones, a big clam, and a bunch of dead corals (this is the tank where I kill them). Also, a 65 gallon seahorse tank with a bunch of happy seahorses and even happier hair algae!

So, welcome me, and tell me about meetings, frag swaps, and other get-togethers.

I am not sure if we want to welcome a killer ... LOL j/k

I am guilty too until I got it kimda figured out. Welcome! our club is open to any members at no cost. You are welcome to come and hang out with us. The next meeting will be in Feb and Reefbass will announce it soon.

meetings most of the time are on the 2nd Friday of the month at 7pm. Welcome and make sure to make the next meeting if you can.

Thanks to all for the welcomes and invite. Second Friday in February, my wife and I will be on Maui, but I'll look forward to the March meeting. Where are they held?

Hi Jim. Welcome to RC and to our club forum.

As northbay-reefer already stated, there is no cost to join our club. We meet monthly, usually in the evening of the 2nd Friday of the month, though Saturday afternoon bbq events are popular when the weater is nice. :)

The meeting location can vary. Since I've been president, we've met at four local retailers, had two tank tours and met at members' houses. When there is nothing special scheduled, we have been known to meet at the restaurant in the Union Hotel in Santa Rosa.

Being the Wine Country Reefers, our meetings tend to involve food and beverage (though admittedly food didn't happen at our last get together).

We also usually have a raffle of frags and a frag swap at each meeting. The swap is free and our vp Owen sets the theme. Tickets for the raffle are usually $5 each or 5 for $20.

Stay tuned to the forum for postings about the next meeting location.

Ken
