Just so you know. I went to the salvage yard today and saw a bunch of weed growing equipments being dumped at the Santa Rosa slavage yard. Here is a list of things you might find:

1, T5 hood with reflectors (i got a 48" 6 lights for $7)
2, T5 workhorse ballasts
3, Lumatek 400,600,1000 watt ballast a whole bin full of them
4, air pumps (comercial model) water pumps
5, Chillers a couple of them, yes 1/10 horse and a 1/4 hourse
6, others.

Hurry and get out there before they are all gone. Please don't trip over yourself :D

If you pick up one of the lumatek balasts make sure it will light a MH bulb. a lot of the lumateks used form Growing will only light a high pressure sodium bulb.

A 1/10 would be at leasts 400 or 500 and the 1/4 hp would be a lot more. I think Tom will be financing his coral purchases with these guys for quite a while ;)

I picked up one of the chillers for 5 bucks. It was the 1/10 hp and has been working well. They are closed on Sundays

Someone want to pick up a few for me do I can sell them down in SF bay area?

I can pick them up at next meetup in September. We can "split the sales".... :)

It's called bataeff salvage. I just google searched Santa rosa salvage and it was the first one. It's off Santa rosa ave.

I just called these guys and nobody had any idea what I was talking about. They said that they don't have anything like that for sale there.

All they know is they have things that's made out of metal and they sell it by weigh. So yes you should go there yourself, they have other things that you might like also. I go there once in a while just to browse.

Pretty much everything is gone, the only thing that is left is a T5 hood that was taken a part, some one removed one of the work horse ballast :D .. I am wondering who did it? lol

Do you think there is a place (salvage yard) in San Francisco that might have the same opportunity?

Not that I know off, Northern Cali is the prime area for reefers (not the salt water variety) so I am sure their will be more oportunities here in SR. I go there once in a while and I will keep you posted.

When I was there today I saw a guy buying up all the ballasts :D I wonder what's he is going to do with those ... LOL ... but he bough them for $5.00 a piece.
