Sam's 110g Diary.

Well I think Ive bought enough equipment to start one of these threads. The updates will be coming daily and my new 110 should be up and running by next weekend.

110g Project

110g Tank 60x24x18
60g Sump-A-fuge
Hurricane Overflow
ASMG2 w/Sedra5000
SCWD Closed Loop w/Jebo2200Pump
Via Aqua3300 Return
200lbs+Fiji, plus some stuff I have no idea what it is
100lbs+ Fiji Pink Sand


Today I tore down my 60g. I kept around 45% of the existing water to house some of the fish and to add a little to the 110g.

I used my (Plan A 30g) Sump-A-fuge to house Pair of SI True Percs, Coral Beauty, and a Yellow Tang with a few snails.

I am now going with my existing 60g for a bigger Sump-A-Fuge simply because it was part of the deal with my parents, Were guessing it will take twice as long for the 60g to overflow if we ever loose power.Plus I need it for the ASM.

The walls of my room will hopefully be painted Saturday.

30g Sump-Fuge with 1/8 acrylic will get rid of when 110g goes up. I know someone was intersted in it PM me.

Here it it is housing the fishes.

Heres my 60g, stand will be found a new home also PM me, its all cleaned up in my garage right now and just bought 1/4 sheets of acrylic and some silicone. Just having some camera problems will have a ton more pics to come...

Inputs, Ideas etc are welcomed Ive been in the hobby for 9 months and this is pretty big. So please help out on the way if there are better ways of doing things as this thread progesses.

Finished the 60g Sump-A-Fuge...I thought it was gonna be harder to make the teeth on the acrylic. Just got a really thick blade on the dremel and made inserts lol.

Went to HD in the morning bought 12 feet of return line that will be used for the return, and the SCWD closed loops.

My pops brought me the sweet fittings from his work and got working on the DIY Overflow w/Durso and finsihed of the rest of the plumbing. The plastic was bought from my Cousins friend. The container and U tube is from a Hurricane overflow.

Im hoping to get the rest of the room painted today so I can go and pick up the 110g already.

I fixed my camera and can take some sweet pics.

Heres the 60g Sump-A-Fuge.

I finally found a 1.5 inch Y Fitting so now Im gonna go and finish the sump as I type.

The tank is comin today! Ill take some pics of that as well.

My Dads been working for Spears 25+ years.

He has em as small as 3/4 to 3 inches. Let me know if u need any.

Yea dude. I actually had it in my profile but then I was getting like 10-15 emails a day for a ton of stuff. So i took it off....:lol:I know Im gonna save a ton on my system.

i used to work for fedex in sun vally/ burbank so i know that area really well..

Bought some wood Ill get started on my canopy. Anyone have some ideas? I want it to sort of have a latch so I can easily open feed fish, check on light etc... I have a pretty sweet wingspan so hight wont be an issue. Pics will be cool.

Yep its in the valley its hidden, REALLY HIDDEN!!! Its in Sylmar.

Its on Olden st. I used to walk there to help my Dad out. I go there now and then and get a few pvc joints I cant find, ball, check, and gate valves up the booty in there. Its like a reefers dream inside!!! Just look at the homepage....

make the canopy and then cut it in half (6-8 inches back from the front) so that the entire front will swing up and back....

Dude, before you start plumbing, get a couple of over under baffles into your return compartment. The height of the water falling will definitely give you bubble and then you'll end up with tons of microbubbles in your display. Especially the output from the skimmer. One of the things I wish I can do over right now.

The rain delayed me this week pretty ****ed...So still need to finish the return line..SteveOh(RC Member) was kind enough to ship me some small y fittings that he found at Tongs<---Thanks Dawg I owe u one!.

I havent been able to sleep, dont think I will till the 110g is in my room!

Heres how it will go on the back. Im gonna lay out my vinyl tubing for it to get warm if the sun comes out today cut it and connect whatever needs to be connected.

And this guys here will be my 24 hour clean up before I turn on return pumps and have water siphoning. Can I use this only filled up with carbon and phospate remover?

Hope to paint the room over again. My mom is gonna trick it out this time I just went twith two plain colors on walls, she wants to to do sponge effect stuff o it w/e.

FYI- All those U-Tubes you have will not work w/ loc-line fittings. I found out the $$$$$ way....lol.

BTW- Nice thread dude. Keep up the great work.

I have a 240g. I'm picking up on Sat. but no place to set it up. Have to store it for 6 mo. or so. Try no sleep for 6 months...lol.

Those u tubes are it! No loc lines. Those will be all coming from sump and or display.

Look at #2 pic from that post. 4 U tubes. 1 and 4 are gonna be with SCWD, 2 and 3 are for return.

I spent only 10 bux on these, loc lin is like 20bucks for a single tube.
