my question is whether i can use sand in the quarantine tank where i treat my perculas with hypo. i know that ich survives on substrate but with the hypo theory they should explode as soon as they leave the percs skin so they should not be able to settle down in the substrate. i would add the fresh dry sand to enable some denitrifying process in addition with prodibio biodigest bacteria which are supposed to work also in brackish environments, before i add the fish...
any ideas/suggestions? thanks in advance...
