Sand and Plate corals

I have had my 120 gallon setup for about a month now. On the bottom I have a large amount of sugar fine sand and it keeps piling up on my fungia coral. I have placed the fungia on a small rock and that seems to help, but over the past few mornings, the coral has had some sand on it. Blowing the sand off with a turkey baster seems to help, but the sand keeps coming back.

It seems like I have two options--raise the fungia up even higher or remove the sand and get something courser which won't be inclined to blow around so much. Any advice/comments are appreciated...

Incidentally, I think it is fungia fungites

Thanks

replacing the sugar fine sand would be quite a task, so I'd say just try moving it to a different spot with strong light and less flow, or raise it up on a flat rock.
