Sand sifting stars.

Just want to hear everyone's thoughts on these, just picked up one today. Got it from someone I definitely trust in the hobby. Just curious if anyone has had any experience with these, only asking because just from doing some reading I've seen quite a bit of people saying they might starve to death after a short amount of time.

Star

I've had one for 4 months now. Not sure if he's starving but I have him in my fuge where he enjoys a deep sand bed. I trade him back and forth between my display and let him spend a couple weeks in there to help the fuge rebuild stuff and turn the display sand. It's pretty good at it in one area but moves too slow to really turn more than 1/4 to a 1/3 of the displays sandbed. One thing I've heard is you're not really supposed to expose them to air at all if it can be helped. Thus, I transfer it back and forth by submerging a cup and putting him in.

I have two of them and they are doing well. I think they are actually mating. Not sure but they like to stay on top of each other. Use fine filter food and your star will be happy

Have had one in my 125 for a little over a year now. Going great see him about everyday. Keeps the sand clean. Well worth the $10 I paid for him lol

I bought one of these about 2 months ago and have only seen him about 3 times. They are good about hiding. Lol
