Sanjay's Radion Light schedule.

Radions have an acclamation but remember your not going to run this every time you put a frag in ....also remember sanjays tank is very deep not like most...also you only need 100 to 150 on the sandbed so everyones is going to have a different intensity ....his will not be good for someone with a 24 in dt ..you will burn everything up ....36deep @60% Im getting 150s on the sand bed

You should know me better!

My lights are 13" off the water, 55% and I'm not planning on going to much higher. If I uploaded sanjay's program and ran it as is I would cook my tank.

That said I did have an opportunity to check it out. Its an interesting program for sure, very similar to the "high growth" program. Its extremely intense and heavy on the white spectrum. My program is more of a balance of white and blue, but never even though of running a 7K look. This program is like a blend of a 6500 and 10K halide. I'm not surprised that he sees tremendous growth. Any comments on his color Eddie?

Here are a couple of screenshots of the program. I hope Eddie or Sanjay does not mind, if so have the mods remove them. I thought it would be good for discussion. My whitest period is about a 13K.

My program for reference....

Yep, thats a pretty intense schedule and it would fry my stuff also, but I only have a 20" deep tank. I run an overall at 85% with my whites hitting 55% at mid-day. I also run the wide angle lenses. When I bumped up my whites higher, its started to fry numerous things.

When MH first came around they where all 6500K. I had a 90G that had 2 250W 6500K Venture bulbs and a huge magnetic ballast. Supplementals where 4 x 4' flouresenct actinics. Then came Ice cap with the VHO electronic ballasts but i couldnt afford them. Never burned corals, but again those where the days of Softies and LPS, like elegance, hammers, Leather corals etc... Only availabel additive was Kalk. Strontium additions where big. Flow was rarely discussed. Im talking circa early 90's.

Sanjays colors where very nice, nothing to complain about for sure.

I have been running this schedule at 65% for the last 7 months or so.
I recently bumped it up to 70%.
The kelvin does not go lower than 14k during the schedule.

Nice schedule. Similar to mine my whitest period is about 13k. It's growing on me but when corals are not at their best the whiter light is very unflattering. That said blues really stand out under the lower kelvin lighting, my Oregon tort looks amazing under whiter light.

Reached out to Sanjay. His tank is 30" deep and the lights are 6-8" above the water line, with the wide angle lenses. I hope this helps.
