Sargassum Trigger behavior

I purchased a 3" Sargassum Trigger from Live Aquaria the beginning of December and the past 2 days he has been acting very strange. It was a DD fish so I didn't quarantine him. He has been very shy every since I got him but has always ate enthusiastically. Now the past two days he hides pressed against a rock or lays in the far corner of the tank for 5-6 hours, then freaks out smashing against the glass, rocks and sand and jumping out of the water. He also does not eat. I have 2 clowns and 3 anthias in the tank also that are fine. A week ago I added a tunze 6020 near his hiding spot under the overflow and he got sucked to it so I moved the pump and subsequently removed it and he was fine for the next few days.
The tank has been running for 3.5 months now. Its a 60g cube. Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate is undetectable. The only other change made was I added 150g of biopellets to my reactor and went to a 50/50 mix of granular carbon/BRS Rox. Any thoughts?
I have a 29 gallon or 5.5g QT that I could try to move him to but I don't know what to medicate.

Triggers are very shy at first. It is concerning that you found him sucked up against your powerhead. That usually means they are weak and not very healthy. I would pull him and put him into your 29g qt tank for observation. Triggers are pretty active so him laying there is not normal.

Personally, I would try taking him out and putting him in QT to get a better look. That *may* put him over the edge though, stress wise, but I think it'd be worth a shot if I were in your shoes. Good luck!

When I got the sargassum I had he hid for the first 1.5 weeks and only came out to eat. After that he was always front and center. FWIW DD holds fish for 2 weeks which IS NOT QTing a fish. QTing a fish should last for 8 weeks. Also the trigger could have flukes which is sometimes easily missed if you don't know what to look for

Update on this? I too bought a sargassum trigger from dd that arrived last Tuesday. He was shy for the first 2-3 days but now is becoming more brave and coming out even when I'm right next to the tank. He's been pigging out on PE mysis and plankton. I also did not qt him and he's in a tank full of aggressive eaters.
