Sargassum Triggerfish

Has anybody had any experience with a Sargassum Triggerfish?
Are they reef safe? (I see mixed reviews. Some say they are, are not, and with caution)

I have heard from a few different people that this fish will not NORMALLY bother coral. It is usually recommended with the pink tail trigger as reef safe.

But with any trigger they get big and can always cause other problems. I only know one person that has one in his tank but it lives by itself.

Yeah it is in the same family as the cross hatch which is going to be the last fish I add if it kills me or my wife does first since it's $$$.

acer. Do you have any clams or shrimp in your tank? I keep reading that even though they "should" leave corals alone, they may nip at inverts.

C-Sea member DEERE G has one in his reef. So far, besides eating Bangaii Cardinals like popcorn, I think it's been pretty good (hasn't touched coral).

My Sargassum has been a model citizen as TJ mentioned.
It leaves my cleaner and Harlequin shrimp alone. Does not bother coral. I have had it in my tank for about 18 months. I feed it homemade food , mysis and silversides .
I did add 6 Bangaii's one time and he mowed them down. I think they looked too much like silversides. Haha

NO trouble here- even leaves the small green chromis alone. Granted all fish are giving him room- but he is alot bigger than they are. the Kole tank was holding his own and even being aggressive toward the trigger- but now the trigger is definitely the king of the tank. And yes- I hav e2 maxima clams and a cleaner shrimp- ignores them - the shrimp was cleaning him the other day. Although I may have poisoned the tank today getting ready for the frag swap Saturday. I will be setting up a 10 gallon tank up with a heater/light/pump to place corals and maybe fish in - going to Salty afterwards. Checking a old heater and it leaked and was orange/brown inside full of water and no doubt some leaked out into the system before I saw it- only in the tank for about 10 minutes, but hte softies all reacted badly - the green slimer and the pink millie are all putting out a lot of slim coat. if I loose this trigger, clams, ricordia, etc. I am going to kill myself for being too cheap to just buy a new heater.

When I set up a big reef tank in the future I will add a pair of Crosshatches. I love the triggers.
