Save my Acros, Kill my Apitasia

I may or may not have bhergias I added them to the tank a while ago and never saw them again. I have 1 peppermint left at one point I had a half dozen and they never did anything. Kalk and joes juices just work great before things get out of hand, ap x never worked well for me. I now have a CBB from DD. I see it pick at them now and then but the aptisia seem to be slowing reducing in number. I don't know if it's the nudis or the CBB or both. The only problem I had/have with the CBB is my yellow tang hated it for the first few weeks and things were getting ugly but I added a few fish afterwords and it seems to have lost interest.

thanks for the input guys. I will testify that the laser is a bit more 'fun' to use, you can stay dry and not be terribly disruptive... but you definitely need a clean line of sight. many require multiple zapping sessions. smaller ones will snap crackly pop which is cool. again this is a 3W 495nm laser which from what i've researched is the biggest and baddest for our purpose of reef pest elimination.

I also have a relatively high fish count in my 120g so feeding (all strained/frozen misys & spirulina) does perhaps get to the aiptasia and help them along. i've cut down a bit on feeding to see how this plays out.

research i've done suggests bhergia are the only that solely eat aiptasia as their food source whereas others are opportunistic feeders such as peppermints (hence the hit or miss and the risk of them acquiring a taste for polyps).

will try the bhergia nudis. Lisa at saltyunderground.com seems like a knowledgeable and trusty resource.

i have a feeling i'd have to go through multiple CBB to get one to last.

all of this is about aiptasia erradication before i add my frags that are currently growing and shaking out

You won't go wrong with saltyunderground. Lisa has always provided good customer service.

I have a couple of them in my BC29 now munchin' away on some aiptasia......

Berghia and a CBB are the way to go. I had a ton in my 120 display and 6 Berghia and my CBB took care of 99% of them. I have a bunch in my sump now; I take out rocks from my sump and put them in my display, and they are devoid of aptasia in a couple of hours after my CBB has had at them.

vote for peppermints here. I've had outbreaks of aptasia twice since I started reefing. both times after introduction of new live rock. Both times peppermints completely eliminated the aptasia. kalk paste works well too but its a lot of work and some times it dribbles on corals and burns them as well.
