I was just alerted to my ATO overflowing by my Basement Watchdog battery operated water alarm. It is the first time in years that it has gone off, but I am loving the fact that I have one now. Highly recommended, and they only cost $10-15.

I bet it's the best $10-15 you ever spent...

I did some work on my under-tank plumbing 3 days ago ... and yesterday, mid-afternoon ... one of the fittings gave way and I hear some splashing noise. Grateful for the cold weather and I was home .... Had I been at work, would have 20+ gallons on the floor, some tripped circuits, and possibly some dead corals. Some 'higher' force is watching over our tanks.

Fifteen bux is cheap insurance! Only downside is that someone has to be there to hear it. There is no good argument that I can think of against the Basement Watchdog.

Water on the floor alarm is a very good investment. I have a sensor connected to my apex controller so I get a text/email when it goes off.

I need to set my Apex to send me a daily email so I know if my email settings stop working.
