saw a rare tang at exotic...

Why can't we just stay with the subject?
I have seen this little guy at Exotic Aquarium; according to the owner, this is the third one they have in stock. Just some Tang you dont see everyday. Looks happing in that little nano Biocube.
Is 29 gal too small for him? Marine centre said min 150 gal for him?

Thats pretty funny. Because I spoke with them yesterday and they said that was the first one they have had in. Oh well, people lie all the time...

Mark, did you talk to the owner as well, or an employee? Calling them a liers is a bit harsh as new employees may never have seen past fish, nor have any knowledge of it.

I spoke with the owner and Matt. Nelson was the one that ordered it. His brother had never even seen one before. To clarify, I did not mean that exotic lied. There has been a lot of funny buisness going on in the MARS threads of late, especially dealing with the gem tang.

Who is Tim then? I thought he was Nelson's bro.

I learned from Tim that they plan to use the back room for liverock bins and open up the liverock tanks in the show room for more coral displays.

Is that 600g show tank still empty?

Tim is part owner, Nelson and his brother (Dickson) use to be partners at the old exotic and the split up after the re-location.

Nelson has always been able to bring in RARE fish and I would say that he is the only store in the area that actually brings in the rarest in the hobby. He can basically get his hands on anything, he is actually the 3rd guy I have ever actually known to also have the TRUE PEPPERMINT hog as well.

I saw that Tang there at Exotic today, very nice and active. Online selling $3500 for just the tang then with all the rare expensive corals that they have in that 29biocube+ the tang for $4000 is pretty good isn't it? first time seeing a rare tang so I video recorded. haha

He must have very good connections. :)

Yes at the old location he used to get 20 healthy powder blue tangs in and had them for sale at $24.99 each from time to time.

That video was nice except it did not show the full tank that is for sale. Now I have to go there in person:)

Got to see it in person, a nice setup. Better have a 200g plus tank ready for the gem tang though.

On an unrelated note, I have for a long time trying to find a bigger needle wheel impeller to mod my skimmer, no luck buying the part anywhere, after explaining to Tim they let me exchange my small impeller for a bigger one right out of a new skimmer box and then marked the new box as a customer return.

Now I don't want everybody start asking such favor but talk about going out of the way to take care of their customers!

if i remember, they had a couple bright pink yumas, various zoas. devil's armor/armegeddon zoas, blue zoas, and a few more. I think they had a few sps, but im not to sure on that.

They have it listed for $2,500. Supposedly, they retail for $1,500 in southern cal, but what's another grand, give or take?:p

I have a friend in CA who have seen a wholesellers list and it was $1900.00...
