Hi friends.

Looking to buy Jebao wavemakers for the 66G. I am confused on which model to buy?

I read through the forums that either 2 RW4 or 1 RW8 would do. Any suggestions comments.

In my 80G I have 2 mp10's and 2 pp 8's. Both are turned down to roughly 50% and make enough flow for my mostly LPS tank.

Well the newer model is the PP-4/8.

I am going to be running two of the 4's. Really don't think the 8 is necessary unless a dedicated SPS tank, the 4 pushes a good amount of water around.

I considered the pp4's, but figured it would be better to oversize the pump and run them slower for longer life.

What are you planning to keep in the reef? that plays a big roll in what you should pick.

I would go with two RW8's personally. I used a single RW4 on my 21g biocube. It moved water well on that little tank (I know use it to mix one of my 5 gallon buckets of SW I use for watcher changes). But 2 RW8's running at 50% would give you great turnover on your tank, it's better to run a larger wavemaker at lower power, than a smaller at full power.

Get the PP8s. The PP line is the replacement for the RW series but pretty much the same thing. In a 66 you will want the ability of the PP8 in there to spool up if necessary to hit dead spots.

For the $10 or less difference in price it is worth to jump up to the PP8

For my next build I was thinking of going with SCA. Could any of you comment on the silicon finish? The aquarium will take 12 weeks build time since I will be using the new ghost shadow overflow and my only concerns is that I will get a shotty silicon job and have to send the tank back.

I just recieved my 90 gal cube and the silicone looks great. nice and even and no issues from what i looked over.

Silicone work on my 80 was superb to say the least. Fit and finish of the tank is second to none.

silicone work on my 50 is great. very few air bubbles in the seams and the beads inside are great.

Silicone is a bit thin on my 66G, especially on the front glass. I spoke with Steve and posted it on the forum. It seems that, in my case, its not a big concern.

On another note, SC's customer service is phenomenal. I had several problems with my order, but everything was solved satisfactorily.

Yes, I agree, CS is amazing. I was shipped the incorrect stand and Steve made it priority #1 to get my correct stand to me ASAP. I was, and still am very happy. I will go to SCA again when I get my bigger tank in a few years

New updates on my 150 tank (with sump /refugium in the basement) build from SC - finally got it moved form garage to living room, plumbing done on the back. Now need to make salt water, add rocks,sand, etc.

MY silicone job is great from SC.

Just wanted to swing back to my questions. How many Jebao PP-8 wavemakers would you recommend for a 66G tank?

2 KZ. You might find you need more depending on your rockwork but 2 should suffice.

IE I have 2 WAVS in my 150 but needed to add 2 PP4 to the tank to aid in the low flow areas.

Thanks for all your replies. That is always my concern with tanks I do not see in person. I like to check for air bubbles in the seams because you never know. I remember there were some posts out there by cadlights owners where their tanks just fell apart. I know these issues are very random and isolated but it always scares me when ordering a tank I do not get to see before it is delivered.

I guess I could always drive 350 miles to pick it up. LOL!

Sounds great !! Thank you! I agree with SoulPatch and you. Better go higher and run it at low power to extend their life.

I was checking out fish-street and Jebao launched a new version. I might get a pair of those or the PPs
