I have one in my mixed reef, he's completely safe minus small inverts. I think the concern here is tank size, as they are really active fish. However, they are also relatively slow growers. A 6' 180g would be an absolute minimum for this fish IMO, and once it grows an upgrade would be in order.
If you pick him up, make sure he's eating and deworm him before he goes into your DT, they are known for internal parasites. Mine thrives on NLS and hikari seaweed extreme pellets, but eats everything I toss in the tank.
