Ok, I have received some additional instructions from Mary for the field trip.
1) we will meet at 1030 am sharp at the shopping center parking lot immediately west of Ventura and north of Hueneme Rd near an Ice Cream shop, Subway Sandwiches, etc. DO NOT BE LATE AND BRING A PHOTO IDENT WITH YOU People arriving late, after we depart for the security gate with Mary, or arrive without an ID are OUT OF LUCK! PERIOD. Mary will not be making a seperate trip to the gate to admit stragglers and negotiate security. Allow extra drive time as it is a far drive and there is no accounting for traffic conditions on staurday morning.
2) Due to the size of the group of attendees, Mary has asked that we split into two groups for the tour portion of the field trip. I will remind you when we meet up in the parking lot before we depart with Mary to enter the security gate to the base.
All those members of SCMAS as well as pending members of SCMAS are assigned to Group A for the tour. All members of MASLAC and MASVC are assigned to Group B for the tour.
SCMAS= tour group A
MASLAC and MASVC = tour group B
3) Mary has expressed a concen regarding crowded conditions for anyone desiring to purchase livestock. She has specifically requested that we form groups of no more than 20 to rotate through for retail purchasing. She has also requested that any children attending the tour, be outside the building during purchasing to reduce crowding.
Thus, I propose the following for Purchase Group assignments:
SCMAS purchase group 1, MASLAC purchase group 2, and MASVC purchase group 3. I suppose if there are concerns about first choice, or there are people who do not intend to purchase, etc you can trade your purchase group designation with someone else of your own free will, but please respect Mary's concerns about crowding.
Remember CASH ONLY sales. I believe there is an ATM in the parking lot we are meeting, but you may want to get cash beforehand to be sure.
4) due to limited parking at Mary's facility, when we depart the parking lot to enter the security gate, any cars entering must be as full as possible with passengers. So even if you do not carpool, you may be asked to take additional passengers in your vehicle through the security gate and to the faciltiy.
Sorry if I come off as a bureaucratic overload, but Mary has been gracious enogh to accomodate all of us in touring her facility despite the major security access issues and crowding, so please repect the instructions above.
I am sure this will be a very fun and interesting field trip for all!
Chris
PS I had a few extra attendee registrations after the deadline and I supplied the following updated list to Mary just this morning for her to give to security. No Further Registrations are beingaccepted at this time. sorry.
