Ladies and Gents,

All are welcome to attend the SCMAS meeting this Friday Oct. 20 @ 7:00 PM as we will have Steven Pro as the guest speaker. Steven is the owner of Pro Aquatic Services in Pennsylvania, member of the Pittsburgh Marine Aquarium Society, former Crew Member of WetWebMedia.com, Speaker at MACNA XVIII, and former Director of AMDA. The topic presented by Steven this Friday will be:
"Moving Beyond Anecdote: Simple Experiments for Hobbyists"

We meet the 3rd Friday of every month at 7:00 PM in Santa Ana at the IHOP restaurant at 1001 E. 17th. St., one block east of the 5 Freeway

Please feel free to attend even if you are not a member. There is absolutely no obligation to join, participate, or even talk unless you want to! If all you wish to do is sit, chill, eat some IHOP food, and listen-in at what's going on....then that's perfectly fine with us! But at least give us a shot at peaking your interest. We think you'll like what you see and want to come back for more.

There is always an excellent raffle at the end of each SCMAS meeting where you'll have the chance to win various livestock and/or reef equipment for a mere $1 per ticket. Just to entice you a little, let me give you an example: The first prize (value) of each monthly's raffle is almost always in excess of $100! Then there is typically a dozen or so live goods (fish, inverts, etc) to raffle off to some other lucky winners.

Our topics of discussion are always both intriguing and educational, not to mention USEFUL to anyone and everyone in this hobby! The IHOP where we meet provides wait staff and serves its full menu during our meeting! So come and eat your dinner whilst listening in on the discussion at hand. Believe me when I say: It's worth a few hours of your time on the third Friday of every month. Bring your whole family, bring friends/colleagues, or simply come alone. Either way, you'll be glad you did. :)

PLEASE! come check us out.

Sincerely,

Kevin T. Adams

Steven Any hints on what kind of experimants?
A little bit on reef-safe treatments, salt mixes, lighting, hydrometers, a lot of different topics.

Sounds like a lot of fun. If I worked on Fri in OC I would, but I'm off an another trip in to OC would just about do me in. I live on the other side of the world. But hey, hope everyone has fun and maybe next time guys.
LOL

I'll be there, not that I would consider doing experiments on my tank. I just want to pick Steven's brain about different products on the market. He seems to be a wealth of knowledge on that topic. I also can't wait for Friday morning's sight seeing tour w/ Steven Pro and maybe sushi for lunch?:D

Sounds like another great meeting!

I've missed 2 in a row, I think, and am "jones-ing" (does anybody say this anymore?) to attend a meeting.

Kevin - can I get some filter socks? Maybe 4.

See you all Friday.

Sounds like an interesting topic and Steven is supposed to be a good speaker.
Steven is a great speaker. He was a guest speaker at MASLAC this year and is a wealth of information. Anyone thinking of going to a meeting wont be disappointed.

What a great meeting....................I'm almost kicking myself for not attending & joining earlier. It's really nice to hear "expert" opinions on matters involving reefkeeping. Want to thank everyone attending & involved for making me feel welcome & I'm looking forward to the next meeting..................

Maybe, I'll win the cal reactor next time.....
