i hope reefa-a-palooza get some more coral vendors.. there are only a few (5 if i counted right) and all but one are local .

Do the coral vendors give better deals at this event? i am not in the market for dry doods...

thanks

Gabe, there will be plenty of coral vendors there. The ones added in the website are only the ones who more or less do this for a living. Local hobbiest were not included and the list is growing fast. I got several reservation in just the short time I was online last night and I know there will be more when I get home tonight.

cool thats what i was hoping to hear...

do you know if the major vendors drop their prices for coral for this event?

SCMAS will have a holding tank to put your corals in if you have just a few frags to sell and don't want to bring a tank and lights to display.

I would expect that they would since they usually have at previous frag swaps.

you didnt pick up that super skimmer for $50. I dont understand why not if you were looking for a cheap skimmer. If I were you I would save up and not set anything up until you have all the stuff needed that YOU want. I just see that in every thread selling something you are 1 of the first asking to hold or tring to get first dibs on things. this is a expensive hobby and should be done only if you have the means to do it. I just feel that posting things like WTB any cheap/ FREE sps and zoas sort of plays on the hearts and giving people here on RC. I feel for you wanting to be in the hobby, but understand that this takes CASH and alot of it to do it right.

just incase you didnt see it at the top of this forum i

WTB: a cheap coralife super skimmer, and any cheap/free sps and zoas!

well for the record i would have picked up that skimmer in a second but i guess war daddy had a friend come over that night or what ever and get it! so thats the reson alot of the time, its not that im saying i want something that i dont have the money for and alot of the time im asking questions about the item to figure out if i want to spend my precious dollar on but i do also understand that i can say that i want something and then i dont follow through but that is because i dont have reliable wheels(my mom has to drive me everywhere) and because my moms not here all the time and if i call dibs,i have to check with my mom if im able to get ther in the time frame allowed and if she thinks its even worth it(i know i know) so i am sorry to "play on the heart " i will delete that immediatly!

jay, cut the kid a break. He's 14 years old. at least he's trying to pay for stuff on his own without the help of his mom. Its not harming anyone if he calls dibs and if it does fall through, the next person gets it... simple as that. There are plenty of people on RC that do the same thing and try to haggle on everything and there's even some that take it further and try to resell it rather than promote the hobby. At least its for his tank. All in all, we're all just here to have fun.

I hope it's not 100+ degrees out that day.

Dude if it is, the frags better be half off!:D

How long will coral last in a bag, with such temperatures if I were to be there from 11:00am to 4:00pm+1hr drive back home?

Are we alowed to bring our personal coolers to store corals? I just dont want people to think Ill be selling corals on the low wich I wont:D

Xavier if you cant find a skimmer by then do research on the Jebo 180 skimmer.

My neighbor is leaving the hobby, and is selling his stuff. Hes had it stored for a while now. Its like 2 weeks old with original box and manual. Ill try and see If I can get it for you for 20$ Its a In-Sump or HOB.

Check ur pm I sent you a pic.

Seriously need to cut the kid a break dude. I've learned that not everything has to be expensive in this hobby. There are ways to make a pretty decent tank economically. Heck, he has a 250w halide on his 29g. That's more lighting per gallon than I have and I can buy whatever I want for my tank. He should also be able to ask for a cheap skimmer on this or any other thread without being harassed about it.

That is one reason SCMAS will be setting up a frag tank. You can bring your own cooler
