Scooter Blennies Fighting

I just introduced a male scooter blenny into my 40 gal. I've had a female for a few months, and the decision to introduce a male was due in part to him being written off by my local shop as he wasn't doing so well, along with the fact that he is bigger than the female so I thought there wouldn't be any issues.

When I first introduced him, the female found him within minutes. She fluttered up sideways, flared her dorsal fin (He flared as well), and then she followed him around for awhile. This was yesterday.

Today, he looks much better than he did at the shop, but he is hiding, and whenever he comes out, the female chases him around the tank.

I was reading that they may be territorial, but I've never heard of aggression between sexes. I haven't found any evidence of this anywhere aside from my tank. Has anyone else experienced this?

Dragonets do this. Putting your female in the sump for a while might calm her down, or putting both of them into qt together and watching it very, very carefully, maybe with eggcrate barrier, but it can end badly for the newcomer. YOu can use eggcrate to barrier off a section of your DT to protect a fish.
