scooter blennies spawn

for the second time in the past month or so ive watched my scoots spawn.both times its been at 10:00 pm ish. anyone else been fortunate to watch their scoots mate.

I have not seen it but dragonets usually spawn at dusk. From what I've seen on video and read they swim in a spiral upwards as the sperm and eggs are released.

How deep is your tank? I've always figured that with the mating swim to the surface a deep tank would be required.

tank is 2 foot deep. and they do it fishy style. sorry couldnt stop myself.they pair up on the sandbed side by side and slowly rise to the surface and when the reach the surface they feed the tank .

That's freakin cool!!! I used to have a pair of shrimp that would breed and when the female would let the fry out the fish would go insane...

If you have a controller I wonder if it would be worthwhile to set your return to shut off around the time they spawn. That's some good coral food they're letting out!
