Recently rec'd 'Polynesian' Scott's fairy wrasse... Haven't noticed pics previously showing a 'pintail'... Is this normal/common on these ?

Mature males can get this, yes. It may be a regional thing too. I had an interesting conversation about this with a couple other notable names in the industry back in early September; both expressed the same thought.
