I went there Friday. Almost no saltwater fish in the tanks. Systems look well designed with plenty of flow, almost too much. There is no place for the fish to rest. Fish look tired and hungry. Purple cyano in the tanks, maybe from being a new system, but still doesn't look good. This should have been a nice medium sized store. You cant expect nice equipment to equal a nice pet shop if they cant maintain the setup. Its too bad even a enthusiastic kid can fight the cyano.
Tropaquatics in Lombard has some good help and there tanks look clean. They still don't have alot of coral but I am beginning to think that Chicagoland can only support 2-3 dedicated coal stores. Lets face it only so many people can or want to do a tank capable of coral. Mail order is another huge competitor.
Bottom line if you cant keep your tanks clean you wont last. I hope they can turn it around but should reevaluate further expansion til they get it right with the stores they have.
I did get 3 Bar Gobies/Dartfish from them a couple of weeks ago that are doing well. I hope things get better since we can all use another nice saltwater pet shop.
